     Saving money with flowers...

If you have a few friends or family members that have a flair for flower arranging or are at all crafty (it's really not that hard if you follow a picture!) and know someone that has a tax ID # ask them if they'd place a wholesale order for you for flowers! This is what my sister in law did for her wedding and I made all her bouquets and arrangements for her! (see attached pic) They came out great if I do say so myself Wink (and her wedding was great practice for me! LOL) so I'm doing it for my own wedding as well with the help of few friends and family members. We're going to make it a flower arranging party which is what we did for my sister in law. It was a blast! Sly She spent a little over $200 for all of the flowers and greenery for her wedding through a wholesale florist online. She had red roses, cala lilies, baby's breath, tree fern and more! There was sooo much! We made 8 bouquets, about 10 bouitenniers, about 5 corsages, petals for the flower girl basket and still had plenty left over for arrangements for the church and reception!

It's helpful to have an old spare refrigerator or freezer (at lowest setting) that you can keep in your basement to store them in also. We fortunately had one to use. If you don't it might even be worth it to spend $100 or so on a used one for the project. You'd still be saving a ton of money! Smile

Anyway, I know this seems like a huge undertaking, but believe it or not it wasn't too bad! I just wanted to let you know that it IS possible to do your own flowers if you're motivated enough! Smile
